Richter¢¥s Hernia, Report of Three Cases

Abstract
Richter¢¥s hernia is a rare, unusual form of strangulated hernia. It is characteristically associated with partial intestinal obstruction rather than with complete obstruction which is usually present in strangulate1 hernia.
Only a part of the circumference of the bowel is engaged and strangulated and this involved portion may rapidly become gangrenous although the lumen of the gut remains open to same degree. Three cases of Richter¢¥s hernia were operated in Department of Surgery, Sacred Heart Hospital, College of Medicine, Chung-Ang University and a brief review was made.
